After only 40 minutes, and unexpectedly, the Board Chair suddenly announced that some missing Board of Adjustment members wanted to hear the Developer’s Attorneys summation, and he concluded the 100 State hearing! (So much for even handedness!)
So on Thursday Dec 5 at 7 pm – currently called for the Chambers – there will be the attorney’s summation and the final Board vote on 100 State St. approval or rejection.
(And that 12/5 agenda also includes the AAUC/Oakdene project hearing. Lots and lots of fireworks expected on that including whether the developers are proceeding without required permits)
No transcript yet – but here is a 40-min video on the 100 State Street’s 7th hearing on 11/7
And an important Flyer about the NEBPA development protest demonstration
on Thursday Nov 14 at State and Teaneck Rd:

The transcript of that important hearing is available by clicking here
The 6th hearing (once it got moved from the Council Chambers to the Library due to the overflow crowd) featured resident after resident (23 of us) stating a myriad of reasons why we uniformly oppose the 100 State Street project. At about midnight several Board members urged the Chair to stop the proceedings – which he reluctantly did. Resident Powers was still in the midst of his testimony and continued it on 11/7 (see video above)
Information on the 5th – September 5 – hearing on 100 State Street
What follows when you tap it is a 3 hour + video of the September 5, 2019 Teaneck Board of Adjustment’s 5th hearing on the application to permit a 68-unit residential building at 100 State which would require approval of 12 variances from the property’s zone. It consists primarily of Teaneck resident questions posed to Developer Planner Steve Lydon about his prior testimony justifying the requested variances. Additionally, early in the video (minutes 2-20 of the video) show the Planner Lydon describing how the developer wants to amend the application & change by adding 25 spaces the # of parking spaces it will include in the proposed building. At two hours and 32 minutes of the video and for the next 21 minutes Township Planner Expert Elizabeth Leheny raises serious questions about the application. Finally, the G&W portion at 2 hours & 58 min on the video includes verbatim readings of the Preiss report on the impact of existing and proposed State Street development – a report which explicitly states that the proposed State Street applications are INCONSISTENT with the Township’s Master Plan – a statement that directly contradicts the Lydon testimony.
